The 17th edition of The Headies Awards lit up Lagos on April 27, 2025, as Nigeria’s biggest musical talents gathered at the Landmark Events Centre for a night of celebration, performances, and recognition. Hosted by Nollywood star Nancy Isime, the glamorous event honoured outstanding achievements across the African music scene over the past year.

The night belonged to Chike, whose song “Egwu” featuring the late Mohbad won two major categories—Viewers’ Choice Award and Best Music Video. Mohbad was also posthumously honoured with Best Street-Hop Artiste for his 2023 single “Ask About Me.” Meanwhile, Rema’s “Heis” clinched the prestigious Album of the Year award.

The ceremony featured electrifying performances, heartfelt tributes, and a showcase of the incredible impact African music continues to make globally.
