Emirates is strengthening its presence in Ghana with the introduction of four additional weekly flights between Dubai and Accra from July 12, 2026, in response to growing travel demand and the increasing importance of Ghana as a regional business and tourism hub.
The expanded service will complement the airline’s existing daily operations, increasing Emirates’ frequency to 11 weekly flights and further enhancing connectivity between Ghana and destinations across its global network.
The additional flights, operating as EK789 and EK790, will be served by a Boeing 777-300ER on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Flight EK789 will depart Dubai at 03:30 and arrive in Accra at 07:40, while the return service, EK790, will leave Accra at 10:25 and arrive in Dubai at 22:40.
The new schedule has been designed to offer seamless connections through Dubai to major commercial and leisure destinations including Beijing, Seoul, Sydney, Perth, Mumbai, Singapore, New York, Jeddah, as well as key gateways in Europe and North America. It will also provide travellers from cities such as Delhi, Boston, Los Angeles and destinations across Germany and the United Kingdom with more convenient access to Accra.
Emirates said the additional frequencies underscore its long-term commitment to Ghana and its confidence in the market, which continues to record strong passenger demand and consistently high seat occupancy throughout the year.
Commenting on the development, Emirates Country Manager for Ghana, Salem Almana, said the airline has remained committed to connecting Ghana to global markets for more than two decades and views the expansion as a significant step in supporting the country’s growing travel needs.
According to him, the additional services will not only provide greater convenience for passengers but will also strengthen business, tourism and trade links between Ghana and key international markets while contributing to the continued growth of the country’s aviation sector.
With the expanded schedule, travellers will have access to Emirates’ global network of nearly 140 destinations through its Dubai hub. The airline will operate the services with its three-class Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, offering eight First Class suites, 42 Business Class seats and 304 Economy Class seats.
Passengers will also have access to Emirates’ award-winning onboard products and services, including its ice inflight entertainment platform, which offers up to 6,500 channels of content in more than 40 languages. The entertainment catalogue includes a selection of Ghanaian productions such as Kotoka, Part Time Woman and Ghana Map.
Beyond passenger operations, the additional flights are expected to provide a significant boost to cargo connectivity through Emirates SkyCargo. The airline currently transports large volumes of fresh produce from Ghana, particularly fresh-cut fruits destined for European markets such as Prague and Zurich, alongside electronics, textiles and pharmaceutical products.
Emirates said the increased bellyhold cargo capacity will further support Ghanaian exporters by providing faster and more reliable access to international markets, while strengthening trade links between Ghana and the rest of the world.
