Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) Plc has been awarded a full ground handling contract by Air Algeria, marking the start of a new partnership between the Nigerian aviation services provider and the Algerian national carrier.

Under the agreement, SAHCO will handle Air Algeria’s twice-weekly flights between Abuja and Algiers, offering a comprehensive suite of services including ramp handling, passenger services, baggage and cargo handling, and aircraft cleaning. The deal comes as Air Algeria commences direct operations into Nigeria, expanding its network in West Africa.

Speaking on the development, SAHCO’s Managing Director/CEO, Mrs. Adenike Aboderin, expressed delight at the new partnership, noting that the win reflects Air Algeria’s confidence in SAHCO’s operational excellence. “We are thrilled to partner with Air Algeria on this important venture. Our experienced team and cutting-edge equipment are fully prepared to ensure seamless, safe, and efficient ground operations at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport,” she said.

She added that the agreement aligns with SAHCO’s vision of expanding its footprint across Africa and enhancing regional connectivity, while reinforcing its reputation for delivering top-tier ground handling services to major international airlines.

The new contract is also expected to foster stronger ties between Nigeria and Algeria, promoting economic and tourism growth between both countries.
