THE last one year has been an eventful and a focused one on laying the foundation for the turnaround of the aviation sector in Nigeria through strict enforcement of compliance to Nigerian Civil Regulations (Nig. CARs) under the leadership of the its Director General, Captain Musa Shuaibu Nuhu.

The truism that the goldfish has no hiding place is coming true for the DG and the NCAA he pilots following the avalanche of awards and recognitions for the sterling performance and successes recorded by energetic DG and the country’s aviation regulatory Authority in 2021.

It is certainly a season of awards for Capt. Nuhu who again was honored with a series of awards at the 11th Nigerian Aviation Development Promotion Awards (NIGAV), held on Sunday 19th December, 2021 in Lagos.

A fortnight ago, the NCAA and its Leadership, Capt. Nuhu was honoured for being the best DG/CEO in Crisis Management post Covid-19 Award by the erudite editorial board of the Air Transport Quarterly (ATQ) Magazine alongside other eminent individuals and organizations for their contributions to the growth and development of the Aviation industry.

In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic outbreak, Capt. Musa Shuaibu Nuhu organized a series of virtual meetings on a regular basis to chart the way forward with industry stakeholders, agencies and players both within the country and outside; these efforts earned him global commendation.

Penultimate Friday, the ATQ award was received by the General Manager, Public Relations Department, Mr. Sam Adurogboye on behalf of the DG for his leadership roles in the flight restart programme with Safety Sustainability Awards for compliance to Safety Standards and Regulations for safer skies

The main highlight of the NIGAV event was the presentation of three (3) Awards for outstanding services and celebration of Aviation Excellence by the organisers.

The Awards include: *Outstanding Leadership Awards in Aviation to Capt. Nuhu, Ease of doing Business and Business Climate Improvement Award 2021 to the NCAA. The awards were received by the Director General himself, Capt. Musa Nuhu in company of the Director of Airworthiness Standards (DAWS), Engineer Kayode Isiaka Ajiboye, the General Manager (PR), Mr. Sam Adurogboye and other staffers present.

An elated Nuhu, who beamed with smiles as he received the awards, commended the organisers for the triple awards, promising that the Authority will not rest on its oars towards ensuring safe, secure and passenger-friendly air transportation in Nigeria. According to him, this chain of awards is a challenge to NCAA not to fail.

However, he promised that the Authority would continue to ensure strict compliance to safety Regulations in the interest of safer skies.
