The Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, has reinforced its standing as one of the world’s leading aviation training institutions after retaining the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Training Centre of Excellence (TCE) Platinum Status for the sixth consecutive year.

The prestigious recognition, awarded under ICAO’s TRAINAIR PLUS Programme, covers the period from 2021 to 2026 and represents the highest level of certification available to aviation training organisations globally. The status is reserved for institutions that consistently demonstrate exceptional compliance with international standards in aviation training and capacity development.

With the latest renewal, NCAT remains among a select group of training centres worldwide to have maintained Platinum Status over such an extended period, reflecting its sustained commitment to quality, innovation and operational excellence.

The certification follows ICAO’s assessment of the college’s performance across key areas, including instructional delivery, curriculum development, quality assurance systems, and the effective integration of classroom and virtual learning platforms.

NCAT said the achievement reflects years of disciplined leadership, strategic reforms and the dedication of its academic, technical and administrative personnel to maintaining global best practices in aviation education.

The institution also acknowledged the contributions of its Rector and Chief Executive, Dr. Danjuma A. Ismaila, alongside instructors, course developers and resource managers whose efforts have helped sustain the college’s reputation as a centre of excellence.

The renewed Platinum Status further strengthens NCAT’s position as a premier aviation training hub in Africa, supporting the development of highly skilled aviation professionals for Nigeria, the continent and the global aviation industry.

Industry stakeholders view the recognition as an endorsement of the college’s growing influence in aviation human capital development and its role in advancing international training standards across Africa’s aviation sector.
