Emirates and Garuda Indonesia have unveiled an exciting new opportunity for frequent flyers with the launch of a joint loyalty programme, allowing members of Emirates Skywards and GarudaMiles to earn and redeem Miles across a vast combined network of over 200 destinations. This latest development builds on the strong partnership between the two carriers, which began with a codeshare agreement in 2022 and has since expanded to offer passengers more destinations, greater rewards, and enhanced travel experiences.

The agreement was officially signed on the sidelines of the Aviation Festival Asia 2025 by Dr. Nejib Ben Khedher, Divisional Senior Vice President of Emirates Skywards, and Rahmaniar, Miles & Ancillary Group Head at Garuda Indonesia. Commenting on the collaboration, Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, emphasized the airline’s commitment to continuously providing its loyalty programme members with more value and opportunities. He highlighted that the partnership with Garuda Indonesia aligns with Emirates Skywards’ vision of creating a truly global loyalty experience, allowing frequent flyers to earn and redeem Miles across both carriers’ extensive networks. Kazim expressed confidence that the initiative would expand Skywards’ presence in Southeast Asia while offering more benefits to its members.

Echoing this enthusiasm, Wamildan Tsani Panjaitan, President and CEO of Garuda Indonesia, expressed his excitement about the enhanced value this partnership brings to both airlines’ loyal customers. He reaffirmed Garuda Indonesia’s dedication to delivering unique offerings to its GarudaMiles members while also extending exclusive benefits to Emirates Skywards members.

Panjaitan noted that the collaboration provides seamless opportunities for frequent flyers to earn and redeem Miles worldwide, granting Skywards members access to Garuda Indonesia’s extensive domestic network and the diverse cultural experiences Indonesia has to offer. Meanwhile, GarudaMiles members can now explore international destinations through Emirates’ global connectivity. He emphasized that this partnership is a key step in Garuda Indonesia’s mission to connect the world with Indonesia, ensuring that passengers enjoy a more rewarding travel experience.

The joint loyalty programme allows Skywards members to earn and redeem Miles when flying with Garuda Indonesia, which operates across 37 destinations within Indonesia and more than 15 international routes. Passengers flying in Economy Class can earn up to 1 Skywards Mile per mile flown, while Business Class travelers earn 1.25 Skywards Miles per mile flown, and First Class passengers earn 2 Skywards Miles per mile flown.

Miles can be redeemed for flights on Garuda Indonesia, starting from 8,000 Miles for Economy Class and Business Class redemptions. Additionally, GarudaMiles members will also be able to earn and spend Miles across Emirates’ extensive network, enjoying flight rewards in Emirates’ Economy and Business Class cabins.

Emirates currently operates double daily flights to Jakarta and Bali using its iconic Emirates A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft, ensuring seamless connections for Indonesian travelers to more than 140 destinations across six continents. Through the ongoing codeshare agreement between the two airlines, passengers continue to benefit from smooth connectivity across the Americas, Middle East, Africa, and Europe.

This latest initiative further strengthens the bond between Emirates and Garuda Indonesia, reinforcing both airlines’ commitment to enhancing the travel experience for their loyal customers and unlocking new opportunities for frequent flyers worldwide.
