Air Peace and Etihad Airways have signed an interline agreement that will significantly expand travel options between the United Arab Emirates, Nigeria and the wider West and Central African region, giving passengers seamless access to more destinations through a single ticket.
The partnership allows Etihad passengers to connect beyond Lagos and Accra onto Air Peace’s domestic and regional network, providing access to 20 destinations across Nigeria, West and Central Africa. Key Nigerian cities covered under the agreement include Abuja, Port Harcourt, Kano, Enugu, Benin City, Owerri, Warri and Asaba, while regional destinations include Abidjan, Dakar, Banjul, Freetown, Monrovia, Conakry, Bamako, Douala and Libreville.
The agreement also creates new opportunities for Air Peace customers, who will be able to connect to Abu Dhabi on Etihad’s services once the UAE carrier commences its planned daily Lagos operations as part of its African expansion programme announced earlier this year. From Abu Dhabi, passengers will have access to Etihad’s extensive global network.
The partnership comes as economic and commercial relations between Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates continue to strengthen following the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement signed in January 2026. It is also expected to support growing demand for business, tourism, trade and family travel between the two countries, home to a sizeable Nigerian community.
Etihad’s Chief Commercial and Revenue Officer, Arik De, described Nigeria as a key pillar of the airline’s long-term African strategy, noting that the agreement provides travellers with access to one of the continent’s most extensive domestic and regional networks.
“Our ambitions in Africa are long term, and Nigeria sits at the centre of them. This agreement gives our guests access to one of the continent’s most extensive domestic and regional networks. Partnerships like this are how we grow, with strong airlines that know their markets better than anyone,” he said.
Air Peace Chief Commercial Officer, Nowel Ngala, said the collaboration aligns with the airline’s vision of improving connectivity for Nigerian and West African travellers while opening more international travel opportunities through Abu Dhabi.
He said the agreement would enable Air Peace customers to conveniently access Etihad’s global network once the new services commence, while welcoming Etihad passengers to destinations across Nigeria and the West African sub-region.
Combined itineraries covering both airlines’ networks will become available for booking after the interline agreement takes effect, offering travellers a more seamless journey with coordinated ticketing and baggage handling across both carriers.
