The Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT) has once again reinforced its standing as a leading global aviation training institution after securing its sixth consecutive Platinum Level Status from the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

The recognition was presented at the ICAO Global Implementation Support Symposium (GISS) in Morocco, where NCAT’s Rector and Chief Executive, Danjuma Ismaila, received the award on behalf of the institution. The achievement highlights NCAT’s sustained commitment to high-quality aviation training and its alignment with global standards in capacity development.

GISS, regarded as ICAO’s flagship implementation platform, convenes aviation regulators, service providers, and industry stakeholders from across member states to strengthen the adoption of international standards and best practices. The forum also serves as a critical avenue for addressing gaps in safety, security, air navigation, and sustainability, while promoting technical cooperation among countries.

NCAT’s repeated attainment of Platinum Status places it among a select group of elite training organisations recognised for excellence in aviation capacity building. The award reflects the college’s consistent delivery of programmes that meet evolving global requirements and support the development of skilled aviation professionals.

Over the years, the institution has played a central role in advancing human capital development within Nigeria and across the African aviation landscape. Its continued recognition at the highest level underscores both its institutional strength and Nigeria’s growing influence in global aviation training, as the country seeks to maintain compliance with international benchmarks and strengthen its aviation ecosystem.
