Air Peace and Overland Airways have announced the resumption of daily return flights between Ibadan and Abuja from December 24, 2025, following the reopening of the Ibadan Airport to commercial operations, restoring direct air connectivity between Oyo State and the Federal Capital Territory.
Air Peace said the move responds to renewed passenger demand for seamless, safe and time-efficient travel between the South-West and Abuja, particularly during the festive season when traffic volumes peak nationwide. The airline disclosed that fares on the Ibadan–Abuja route will start from N95,000, positioning the service as an affordable alternative to long and often risky road travel.
The resumed Ibadan service forms part of Air Peace’s wider domestic expansion strategy, which also includes the reinstatement of Warri flights and the addition of extra frequencies across its network to manage increased yuletide traffic while sustaining growth into 2026. The airline noted that its expanding fleet, strengthened by the recent delivery of a third Embraer 190 aircraft, will enhance schedule reliability, route flexibility and overall service delivery.
Air Peace reaffirmed its commitment to improving domestic connectivity, easing travel stress for passengers and supporting economic activity by linking underserved and high-demand markets through dependable air transport.
Overland Airways also confirmed the resumption of Ibadan–Abuja operations following the airport’s reopening. Its Chief Operating Officer, Mrs. Aderonke Emmanuel-James, described the development as a significant milestone, noting that Overland is the pioneer airline on the Ibadan route and remains committed to strengthening regional connectivity and supporting economic growth through reliable domestic air services.
The return of commercial flights is expected to boost business travel, tourism and socio-economic activities between Ibadan and Abuja, offering travellers increased flexibility, improved safety and faster access between two key Nigerian cities.
