Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) Plc has earned widespread commendation for surpassing the International Air Transport Association (IATA) On-Time Performance (OTP) standard, recording an impressive 88% OTP during the ongoing Hajj operations at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos.

The IATA benchmark for OTP stands at 85%, but SAHCO went further, handling seven out of eight Hajj flights on time, exceeding expectations in a high-pressure operational environment.

Shadrach Kambai, Station Manager for Cliqjets—Saudi Arabia’s flag carrier and SAHCO’s airline customer for the Hajj exercise—applauded the company’s consistency, discipline, and commitment to excellence. He emphasized that the milestone was not due to individual effort but the result of a collaborative, cross-functional team culture deeply embedded in SAHCO’s operations.

“This is a clear testament to your hard work, discipline, and collaboration,” Kambai said. “This achievement didn’t come from individual brilliance alone; it came from teams stepping up, silos being broken down, and people putting mission before ego.”

Kambai highlighted SAHCO’s organizational ethos of shared success and collective responsibility as the foundation of its stellar performance. He encouraged the team to maintain momentum, urging continued collaboration and strong communication as they approach the final phases of the Hajj operation.

“This is not the time to slow down. Let’s cross the finish line with excellence and unity,” he added.

SAHCO’s recognition for exceeding IATA’s performance standard reinforces its leadership position in Nigeria’s ground handling sector, showcasing its adherence to global best practices and commitment to customer satisfaction.
