Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal Two (MMA2), managed by Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL), has marked 18 years of uninterrupted service with a blend of celebration, innovation, and philanthropy.
The anniversary festivities, held at the terminal’s ticketing hall, featured live saxophone performances that serenaded passengers and created a vibrant, festive atmosphere. In a symbolic move to commemorate the milestone, BASL unveiled a striking new 3D exterior signage—strategically positioned to enhance the terminal’s visibility and ease of access in the busy Lagos airport environment.
“Eighteen years on, MMA2 remains a symbol of innovation and private sector excellence in Nigeria’s aviation sector,” said Ajoke Yinka-Olawuyi, Head of Corporate Communications, BASL. “The new 3D signage not only strengthens the terminal’s visual identity but also improves navigation for users.”
Beyond the fanfare, BASL demonstrated its enduring commitment to social impact by dedicating the second day of its anniversary celebration to philanthropy. A delegation from BASL visited the Bethesda Home and School for the Blind, offering a donation to support the education and welfare of visually impaired students.
Ag. Chief Operating Officer, Kola Bamigboye, praised the school’s impact, describing the visit as “a moment of reflection, gratitude, and renewed commitment to values that inspire us.” Recalling a previous visit by Bethesda students to MMA2, he noted how their performance sparked BASL’s desire to support the school’s mission.
“This cheque, though modest, is a heartfelt symbol of our commitment to contributing to a more inclusive and compassionate society,” he added.
Commissioned in 2007, MMA2 remains Nigeria’s leading privately managed terminal and a model of Public-Private Partnership success, known for operational efficiency and customer-centric service.
The 18th anniversary highlights BASL’s focus on continued excellence, innovation, and community engagement as it looks ahead to the future.
