Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) PLC has reported an impressive 74.8% revenue growth for 2024, marking a significant financial turnaround under the leadership of its Managing Director/CEO, Mrs. Adenike Aboderin.

Speaking on the milestone, SAHCO’s Head of Corporate Communications, Mrs. Adetola Vanessa Uansohia, credited the achievement to Aboderin’s strategic leadership, which has driven operational excellence, expanded partnerships, and secured key contracts.

Under her tenure, SAHCO successfully renewed its ground handling contract with British Airways for five years and signed a similar agreement with South African Airways. The company also strengthened partnerships with major carriers such as Bristow Airlines, Value Jet, Ibom Air, Green Africa, and Air Cote D’Ivoire. Further expansions included securing the Air Peace London route, Ibom Air’s regional operations to Accra, and Uganda Airlines’ extended services to Abuja.

In the religious tourism sector, SAHCO secured Hajj handling contracts with Flynas and Umza Air, along with a full handling contract for Neos Air, reviving the Nigerian-Italian route after nearly two decades. The company’s domestic handling agreements with Umza Aviation, LTT Cargo, and ASTRA Aviation further reinforced its market dominance.

SAHCO’s commitment to safety and efficiency was recognized with multiple British Airways awards, including Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum Awards for Safety & Punctuality. Additionally, the company set a new operational efficiency record by achieving a 37-minute turnaround for an Ethiopian Airlines cargo flight, offloading 37 pallets from a Boeing 777 in under 40 minutes.

In line with sustainability goals, SAHCO successfully renewed its IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operations (ISAGO) and RA3 certifications while strengthening corporate affiliations with the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON). The company has also invested in eco-friendly aviation ground support equipment to enhance operational efficiency and environmental sustainability.

Reflecting on Aboderin’s impact, Uansohia stated, “Her visionary leadership has not only driven financial success but has also set new industry benchmarks in safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. With a continued focus on innovation and growth, SAHCO is well-positioned for even greater achievements.”

SAHCO remains committed to operational excellence, safety, and sustainability, reinforcing its position as a trusted partner to airlines, passengers, and stakeholders in the global aviation ground handling sector.
