Nigerian airline, Max Air, has announced the temporary suspension of its domestic flight operations starting Friday, August 2, 2024, due to the ongoing nationwide protests against hunger and economic hardship. This decision makes Max Air the only airline to completely halt operations, while others are experiencing delays due to poor passenger turnout and flight disruptions.

In a statement released by the airline, Max Air emphasized that the safety and well-being of its passengers remain its utmost priority. The management stated, “We regret to inform you that due to the general unrest in the country, we have temporarily suspended our domestic flight operations for August 2, 2024. This decision has been made in the interest of ensuring a secure and reliable travel experience.”

The airline reassured its customers that throughout this period, their dedicated customer service team would remain available via social media channels, emails, and phone lines to provide updates, answer questions, and offer assistance.

Max Air also extended its apologies for any frustration or inconvenience caused by the suspension and expressed gratitude for the continued loyalty and support of its customers. “Your support is invaluable,” the statement added.
