A spokesman of Menzies Aviation has informed NigeriaTravelsMart that it operates under a joint venture with Precision Aviation Handling company which has a Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) license issued 18th October 2013.
Investigations by NTM shows that Precision had entered into an MOU under a new company AHS Aviation Handling Services Nigeria Limited to operate ground handling services in Nigeria.
Over the last 24 hours there were media reports alleging that a ground handling company had carried out operations at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos without approval. Menzies Aviation, a ground handling company with its headquarters in Dublin, Scotland with a base in Ghana is said to still be undergoing certification process with NCAA.
On Wednesday, the ground handling agent handled Air Cote d’Ivoire at Lagos Airport, a flight which departed from Abidjan.
The General Manager, Public Affairs, NCAA Mr. Sam Adurogboye in his reaction has confirmed this incident and has assured that necessary steps was been taken to investigate the issue at hand.
A source close to Menzies informed NTM that a meeting was being held at the NCAA this morning where the issue will be resolved.
