The Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced an unprecedented revenue achievement of N71.6 billion for 2024, surpassing its annual target of N56.86 billion by 20%.
Customs Area Controller (CAC), Comptroller Effiong Harrison, described the performance as historic, marking the highest revenue ever recorded by the command. The surplus of N14.77 billion underscores a remarkable achievement, with July 2024 standing out as a milestone month, generating an all-time high of N12 billion in a single month.
Harrison highlighted a 135% increase compared to the N30.5 billion revenue in 2023, representing a growth of N41.1 billion. He attributed the success to the dedication, commitment, and adherence to high operational standards by the officers and staff of the command.
“I commend the relentless efforts of our team and urge them to maintain these standards to generate even more revenue in 2025,” Harrison said.
He extended gratitude to Comptroller-General Bashir Adeniyi and his management team for their unwavering support, as well as to critical stakeholders and partner agencies for their role in the command’s 2024 success.
Looking ahead, Harrison expressed optimism about achieving even greater milestones in 2025 as the command continues to fulfill its mandates.
