The Star Alliance Lounge at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport has retained its position as the world’s best airline alliance lounge, winning the top prize at the 2026 Skytrax World Airline Awards for the third consecutive year.
The Star Alliance Lounge at Los Angeles International Airport also featured prominently, taking second place and giving the global airline alliance the top two positions in this year’s category.
The awards, presented at a ceremony at The Langham Hotel in London, recognise passenger-rated performance across the global aviation industry and are based on an independent international survey of travellers.
For Star Alliance, the latest recognition extends a decade-long record of strong performances in the World’s Best Airline Alliance Lounge category.
Located in Terminal 1 at Paris Charles de Gaulle, the 1,300-square-metre lounge opened in October 2023. Its design combines contemporary interiors with French-inspired elements, while facilities include dedicated areas for dining, working and relaxation.
Among the lounge’s features are a welcome bar and a wine area designed around France’s wine culture. Large windows also provide views of the airport’s runway, giving passengers an opportunity to watch aircraft movements while waiting for their flights.
Star Alliance Vice President of Customer Experience, Ambar Franco, said the continued recognition reflected the efforts of member airlines, employees and partners to improve the experience of passengers travelling across multiple carriers.
“We are incredibly proud to see our Paris Charles de Gaulle Lounge recognised as the World’s Best Airline Alliance Lounge for a third consecutive year, and our Los Angeles lounge securing second place,” Franco said.
Edward Plaisted, Chief Executive Officer of Skytrax, said the awards recognised Star Alliance’s efforts to provide a coordinated airport experience for international travellers.
Virginie Auriol, Star Alliance France Managing Director, accepted the Paris award on behalf of the alliance, describing the recognition as a reflection of the lounge’s role in the Star Alliance experience at Charles de Gaulle since its opening in 2023.
The Paris result comes as Star Alliance maintains a substantial presence at the French airport. Twenty-one member airlines currently operate from Paris, including Air Canada, Air China, Air India, ANA, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines, SWISS, Turkish Airlines and United Airlines.
Together, the carriers operate more than 800 weekly flights from Paris to more than 30 destinations across over 20 countries, providing extensive connectivity for passengers travelling through the French capital.
The Skytrax World Airline Awards are based on passenger votes collected through an independent global survey and cover a range of airline and airport customer experience categories. Often referred to as the “Oscars of the aviation industry”, the awards are used as a widely recognised benchmark for passenger experience.
