West Africa’s largest carrier, Air Peace, has strengthened its operational and crew training standards through an expanded partnership with Dutch Aviation Trainers (DAT), a globally recognised aviation training organisation focused on Boeing and Embraer aircraft programmes.
The strategic engagement, held at the airline’s corporate headquarters in Lagos, brought together officials of both organisations to deepen collaboration on pilot training initiatives, particularly for Air Peace’s Boeing 737 NG fleet, as the airline continues to expand its domestic, regional and international operations.
DAT currently oversees training for Air Peace pilots operating the Embraer E1 and E2 aircraft types, reinforcing an existing relationship aimed at improving technical expertise, operational efficiency and safety standards across the airline’s fleet.
The Dutch-based training organisation is internationally known for its specialised type-rating programmes and advanced aviation operational courses aligned with global aviation standards. DAT has also provided training services for major international carriers, including KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and AMAS Airlines Uruguay.
Speaking during the meeting, Air Peace management reaffirmed the airline’s commitment to continuous investment in human capital development, advanced crew training and operational excellence, stressing that personnel development remains central to the carrier’s long-term growth strategy.
According to the airline, the collaboration forms part of broader efforts to maintain world-class operational standards while strengthening flight safety, service delivery and technical competence across its growing route network.
Representing Dutch Aviation Trainers at the engagement were the organisation’s Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Captain Paul Ten Hof, alongside senior official Herman, who held discussions with Air Peace executives on future training opportunities and additional areas of capacity development.
The airline noted that the partnership further reflects its strategic focus on aligning operations with international aviation best practices while building a highly skilled workforce capable of supporting its expanding fleet and network ambitions.
