United Nigeria Airlines has announced possible flight disruptions across its network following a bird strike incident involving one of its aircraft.
The incident occurred on January 13, 2026, prompting the airline to withdraw the affected aircraft from service in line with its safety procedures. The aircraft is currently undergoing comprehensive inspection before it can be cleared to return to operations.
Confirming the development in a statement, the airline’s Public Relations Officer, Chibuike Uloka, said the decision was taken in strict adherence to safety standards, noting that passenger safety remains the airline’s top priority.
Uloka said some flights would not operate as scheduled as a result of the incident, and apologised to passengers for any inconvenience caused by the unforeseen disruption.
He assured customers that United Nigeria Airlines is working to minimise the impact on travel plans, adding that affected passengers will receive timely updates and rebooking assistance where necessary.
The airline reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards and appealed to passengers for patience and understanding as the situation is being addressed.
