Hahnair, the world’s leading provider of airline distribution solutions, has announced a pivotal interline agreement with Southwest Airlines Co. (WN). Operating the largest Boeing fleet in the world, comprising 802 aircraft, and covering 117 destinations across 11 countries, Southwest Airlines is recognised as America’s largest domestic airline.
This partnership significantly enhances Southwest Airlines’ global footprint, enabling the airline to generate incremental revenue by extending its distribution reach beyond the U.S. market. Effective immediately, travel consultants can book flights of Southwest Airlines under the WN code in the Amadeus GDS and issue tickets on Hahnair’s HR-169 ticket stock. Access through all Travelport GDSs will follow soon.
“Welcoming Southwest Airlines to our leading network of over 350 partner carriers marks a significant milestone for our worldwide connectivity,” said Alexander Proschka, Chief Commercial Officer of Hahnair. “Through this partnership, Hahnair is offering 100,000 travel agencies outside of the U.S. access to Southwest Airlines’ extensive flight offerings, while at the same time delivering an efficient and comprehensive distribution solution to Southwest Airlines.”
“Our partnership with Hahnair instantly addresses a global appetite for the unmatched network of routes and destinations that the People of Southwest warmly connect with one of the world’s most awarded and most consistently reliable airlines,” said Andrew Watterson, Chief Operating Officer of Southwest Airlines. “We’re on our own journey to bring our Customers more choice and reach, enhancing our product, expanding our network and endeavoring global airline partnerships. Our distribution partnership with Hahnair further ensures that consumers in geographies we do not serve have the viable option of booking with Southwest.“
