As the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations approach, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has appealed to passengers for patience and adherence to airport regulations, anticipating a significant surge in flight schedules and passenger traffic.
FAAN’s Managing Director, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, made the appeal during an engagement with reporters in Lagos, urging travelers to remain calm in the event of flight delays, rescheduling, or cancellations. She emphasized that airlines do not deliberately delay or cancel flights without valid reasons and encouraged passengers to respect the rights of both airlines and fellow travelers.
She further advised passengers to arrive at airports on time and conduct themselves in an orderly manner, stressing the importance of maintaining decorum despite potential disruptions.
Addressing concerns about airport operations, Kuku reassured the public that FAAN is actively working to ensure all airports meet required standards, with efforts focused on facility maintenance and seamless passenger facilitation.
On the issue of touting, she reiterated FAAN’s commitment to eradicating the practice despite the resistance faced. She noted that passengers have given positive feedback, indicating a growing awareness of FAAN’s efforts to improve the travel experience.
FAAN urged all airport users to cooperate with authorities and respect airport regulations during the holiday rush to ensure a smooth and efficient travel experience.
