United Nigeria Airlines has officially expanded its operations with the successful launch of flight services to Katsina State. The airline’s inaugural flight from Abuja landed at the Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Airport on Monday, where it was warmly received by Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umar Radda, alongside state officials, traditional rulers, leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and members of the Igbo community in the state.
The milestone flight was led by United Nigeria Airlines’ Founder and Chairman, Professor Obiora Okonkwo, OFR, and carried a distinguished delegation, including former Katsina State Governor, Bello Masari; APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashiru; Deputy National Secretary, Barrister Festus Fuanter; National Vice Chairman (North West), Honourable Garba Datti Muhammad; National Vice Chairman (North Central), Muazu Bawa Rijau; National Organizing Secretary, Alhaji Sulieman M. Argungu; and other top political and business figures. Among them was Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje.
Speaking at the reception, Governor Radda commended United Nigeria Airlines for its strategic decision to extend services to Katsina, emphasizing the economic and social benefits that enhanced air connectivity would bring to the state. He noted that the airline’s presence would ease travel, boost business opportunities, and attract investment.
Professor Okonkwo expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and reaffirmed the airline’s commitment to providing efficient and reliable air travel for Nigerians. He highlighted that the new Abuja–Katsina route aligns with United Nigeria Airlines’ mission to improve connectivity across the country and contribute to national economic growth.
United Nigeria Airlines, a private Nigerian carrier headquartered in Enugu, has rapidly expanded its operations since receiving its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) four years ago. With scheduled flights across nine Nigerian cities—including Abuja, Onitsha, Asaba, Yenagoa, Warri, Enugu, Owerri, Lagos, and Port Harcourt—the airline continues to strengthen its footprint in Nigeria’s aviation industry.
