Air Peace, Nigeria’s largest airline, has joined forces with Boeing and Cranfield University to elevate safety culture and operational excellence in the aviation sector. The collaboration, under the aegis of Boeing Global Learning Institute (BGLI), focused on “Advanced Leadership in Safety Excellence.”

It involved a five-day intensive training program designed to equip Air Peace’s executives and management teams with enhanced safety leadership skills and practical tools to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Harry Magui, Senior Organizational Consultant at BGLI, emphasized the importance of continuous learning, stating, “Boeing is committed to supporting aviation partners like Air Peace by developing leadership and technical skills that drive operational efficiency and business growth.” He praised Air Peace for its contributions to advancing Nigeria’s aviation industry.

The program, facilitated by experts from Boeing and Cranfield University, combined theoretical insights with practical applications. It included real-world capstone projects tailored to Air Peace’s unique operational challenges. Prof. Graham Braithwaite, Head of Aerospace at Cranfield, highlighted the program’s relevance, saying, “This collaboration directly addresses Air Peace’s needs while embedding global best practices in their operations.”

Dr. Fabian Steinmann, a lecturer at Cranfield, added that the program’s emphasis on organizational resilience ensures Air Peace can adapt to the ever-changing aviation landscape. “Safety is at the core of everything we do, and we are proud to share our knowledge and learn from Air Peace’s dynamic operations,” he noted.

The training curriculum unfolded in two phases. The first focused on aligning Air Peace’s leadership goals with the program’s objectives, while the second equipped participants with actionable tools to drive safety initiatives within their teams. The program also emphasized accountability through follow-up reviews, ensuring sustained impact.

Captain Godfrey Ogbogu, Safety Manager at Air Peace, described the training as “essential for reinforcing existing knowledge and exposing the team to innovative strategies.” He added, “The aviation industry is dynamic, and Air Peace must remain at the forefront of safety and operational excellence.”

This partnership not only deepens Air Peace’s commitment to safety but also positions the airline as a leader in adopting cutting-edge practices in global aviation.
