Less than three years after launching scheduled flight operations, Nigerian carrier ValueJet is set to broaden its West African footprint with new services from its Lagos hub to Cotonou (Benin Republic), Accra (Ghana), and Malabo (Equatorial Guinea).
The move marks the second phase of the airline’s regional growth strategy, following the successful debut of its Lagos–Banjul (The Gambia) route on May 15, 2025. That launch opened up and liberalised the market, with ValueJet reporting strong performance and growing passenger demand.
Managing Director Capt. Omololu Dapo Majekodunmi said the expansion reflects the airline’s commitment to improving intra-African connectivity and fostering economic cooperation.
“Our goal is to make air connectivity on the West Coast—and indeed across Africa—seamless, comfortable, affordable, and a refreshing experience,” he said. “We are strategically expanding our presence to connect key cities, ease travel for Africans, and strengthen commercial ties between countries.”
ValueJet recently bolstered its fleet with two CRJ 1000 regional jets, a move that supports both its domestic and regional operations while maintaining competitive fares. The carrier currently operates a growing network aimed at serving both business and leisure travellers, with a focus on reliable service and modern aircraft.
