TAAG and Lufthansa Technik have entered into a long-term agreement to provide technical services for the aircraft components of the Angolan flag carrier’s new Boeing 787 long-haul fleet. This agreement will commence with the arrival of the first aircraft in February next year and will span twelve years. Through this partnership, TAAG’s Boeing 787-9 and 787-10 aircraft will benefit from Lufthansa Technik’s Total Component Support (TCS), a comprehensive maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) service.

The Total Component Support program will provide TAAG Linhas Aéreas de Angola access to Lufthansa Technik’s extensive inventory of spare parts. This arrangement will enhance the availability of components for the Dreamliner fleet while generating significant cost savings. The contract encompasses essential services such as component maintenance, Aircraft On Ground (AOG) support, and logistics and parts supply.

Lufthansa Technik will also assist TAAG through the Aircraft Production Inspection Program (APIP), overseeing the production process at the manufacturing site until the aircraft are officially accepted. This support will be extended to both the Boeing 787 fleet and the new Airbus A220 aircraft, the first of which was delivered in September.

Nelson de Oliveira, CEO of TAAG, expressed satisfaction with the collaboration, noting that the introduction of two types of modern aircraft to the fleet in close succession made Lufthansa Technik’s recognized expertise and technical capabilities invaluable. Kai-Stefan Roepke, Vice President of Corporate Sales at Lufthansa Technik, highlighted the significance of this agreement, describing it as one of the largest service projects for Dreamliner components in sub-Saharan Africa.

The Lufthansa Technik Group is a globally renowned provider of technical services for aircraft, offering comprehensive support for airframes, engines, components, and digital fleet management solutions.
