TAAG Angola Airlines has officially announced the full transfer of its flight operations to the Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport (NBJ), effective Sunday, October 19, 2025.
This strategic move marks the culmination of a phased transition process and a historic milestone for Angola’s aviation sector. By consolidating all flight operations at a single hub, TAAG aims to achieve greater operational efficiency, enhanced fleet management, and an improved customer experience.
The relocation aligns with the national strategy to position Luanda and Icolo & Bengo as key aviation hubs within Southern Africa, strengthening Angola’s role in regional and global connectivity.
Starting October 19, all TAAG departures and arrivals for the following destinations will operate exclusively from the new airport: Lisbon (Portugal), São Paulo (Brazil), Johannesburg and Cape Town (South Africa), Lagos (Nigeria), Windhoek (Namibia), São Tomé (São Tomé and Príncipe), Maputo (Mozambique), Nairobi (Kenya), and seasonal routes such as Porto (Portugal) and Havana (Cuba). Domestic flights, as well as connections to Brazzaville and Kinshasa, are already operating from the facility.
Passengers are advised to plan their trips to the new airport in advance to allow sufficient time for check-in, boarding, and related procedures, as Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport is located on the outskirts of Luanda, in Bom Jesus, Icolo e Bengo Province.
To support a smooth transition, TAAG will provide a shuttle service between 4 de Fevereiro International Airport (AIL) and the new facility (NBJ) for transit passengers connecting with airlines not yet operating from NBJ.
The airline will continue to share regular updates through its official communication channels and partner travel agencies.
TAAG Angola Airlines extended its appreciation to all partners, employees, and stakeholders for their contributions toward this successful infrastructure transition — marking the beginning of a new era for civil aviation in Angola.
