Skyway Aviation Handling Company PLC (SAHCO) has been awarded the prestigious British Airways Platinum Award for outstanding punctuality and safety performance at its Lagos station. This recognition follows a year of consistent excellence, with SAHCO securing bronze, silver, and gold awards in previous quarters before achieving the highest honor.

Helen O’Connor, Regional General Manager for British Airways in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific, praised SAHCO’s reliability and adherence to strict operational standards. She highlighted that the award was based on meeting or exceeding a 96% adjusted door closure (aDC) target for four consecutive quarters, without any major safety incidents or repeat audit findings.

This marks a historic achievement, as it is the first time the British Airways team in Nigeria has earned this accolade, reinforcing SAHCO’s role as a leader in aviation ground handling. Additionally, SAHCO’s Abuja station demonstrated strong performance, earning a bronze award in the final quarter of 2024.

The British Airways Platinum Award is among the most prestigious recognitions in the airline’s operational network across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific, further cementing SAHCO’s reputation for excellence in ground handling services.
