Air Peace has strengthened its fleet with the arrival of its first factory-new Embraer E175 aircraft, a move that reinforces the airline’s fleet modernisation strategy and positions it for expanded domestic, regional and international operations.
The 88-seat regional jet, registered as 5N-CGH, touched down at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, at 8:32 p.m. on Tuesday following a ferry flight from Brazil, where it was officially handed over to an Air Peace delegation by aircraft manufacturer Embraer.
The acquisition marks another milestone in the airline’s ongoing investment in newer-generation aircraft aimed at improving operational efficiency, increasing route flexibility and enhancing the overall passenger experience. The Embraer E175 is designed for short- and medium-haul services, making it well suited to support Air Peace’s growing network across Nigeria, West Africa, Central Africa and selected international destinations.
Configured with 88 seats in a two-by-two layout, the aircraft eliminates middle seats, ensuring every passenger has either a window or aisle seat. It also features ergonomic leather seating, generous legroom, larger overhead storage compartments, bigger windows and a quieter cabin designed to improve travel comfort.
Beyond passenger amenities, the aircraft delivers lower fuel consumption, reduced carbon emissions and quieter operations, supporting the airline’s commitment to operating a more efficient and environmentally sustainable fleet.
Speaking on the delivery, Air Peace spokesman, Efe Osifo-Whiskey, described the arrival as a significant step in the carrier’s long-term expansion plans.
He said the new Embraer E175 represents more than an addition to the fleet, noting that it reflects the airline’s continued investment in modern aircraft that improve operational performance, strengthen route connectivity and deliver a superior travel experience.
According to him, the aircraft’s capacity and operating economics make it ideal for domestic and regional services, allowing the airline to increase frequencies on existing routes while opening new destinations with greater efficiency.
Osifo-Whiskey added that the latest acquisition would help Air Peace respond to rising passenger demand while supporting regional integration, tourism, economic growth and intra-African connectivity as the airline continues to expand its footprint.
