Enugu Air is set to expand beyond Nigeria with the launch of twice-weekly direct flights between Enugu and Douala, Cameroon, beginning September 23, 2026.
The new service will operate on Mondays and Wednesdays between Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, and Douala International Airport, marking the airline’s entry into regional operations.
Chief Operating Officer of Enugu Air, Ugonna Agubuokwu, said the new route was designed to strengthen connections between Nigeria and Cameroon while making regional travel more accessible to passengers.
“This is more than the introduction of a new route; it is about creating stronger connections between Nigeria and Cameroon and making regional travel more accessible, convenient and seamless for our passengers,” Agubuokwu said.
The Enugu-Douala service is expected to provide travellers from South-East Nigeria with a direct alternative for reaching Cameroon, particularly for business, trade and family travel.
Flights from Enugu will depart at 12:45 p.m. and arrive in Douala at 1:45 p.m., while the return service will leave Douala at 2:30 p.m. and arrive in Enugu at 3:30 p.m.
According to Agubuokwu, the schedule has also been designed to allow passengers travelling from Lagos and Abuja to connect to the regional service through Enugu on the operating days.
The airline will operate the route with an Embraer E170 aircraft as it begins its transition from a domestic carrier to a regional operator.
The expansion comes as Enugu Air continues to build its domestic network, with services linking Enugu and other Nigerian cities including Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Kano, Asaba, Benin City, Owerri and Warri.
Agubuokwu said the new route would further support the airline’s objective of simplifying regional travel and bringing businesses and commercial opportunities within easier reach.
