Skyway Aviation Handling Company (SAHCO) Plc has commenced discussions with the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Lagos as part of efforts to deepen trade facilitation, strengthen aviation partnerships and unlock new business opportunities between Nigeria and the Gulf nation.
The engagement focused on key areas of mutual interest, including airline operations, passenger and cargo handling services, e-commerce development, trade facilitation and other strategic collaborations capable of enhancing commercial ties between both countries.
Speaking during the meeting on behalf of SAHCO Chairman, Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, the company’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Adenike Aboderin, highlighted SAHCO’s operational strengths and growing footprint within the aviation services industry. She outlined the company’s capabilities in supporting airlines and facilitating seamless passenger and cargo movement while exploring potential areas of cooperation with UAE-based carriers and businesses.
The UAE delegation sought insights into Nigeria-UAE trade relations, particularly opportunities within aviation logistics, cargo operations, passenger services and e-commerce, reflecting growing interest in strengthening commercial connectivity between both markets.
The discussions come at a time when air transport and logistics are increasingly playing a central role in supporting international trade, investment and digital commerce. Industry stakeholders believe closer collaboration between aviation service providers and international partners could help drive efficiency across supply chains and create new opportunities for businesses operating across both regions.
