South African Airways (SAA) is excited to announce the expansion of its Johannesburg–Lagos service in response to rising travel demand during the festive season. Starting 6 October 2025, SAA will operate six flights a week between Johannesburg and Lagos, with new services added on Mondays and Tuesdays.
This seasonal increase is part of SAA’s broader network expansion across key African and international routes, running through to 11 February 2026. With travel surging for events like Detty December and other year-end festivities, the additional frequencies offer more flexibility, convenience, and choice for passengers flying between Nigeria and South Africa.
“South African Airways is strengthening its network with more flights, more frequencies, and more opportunities to connect Africa to the world. We are aiming higher to serve our customers better this festive season,” said Mr Tebogo Tsimane, SAA’s Chief Commercial Officer.
From family visits and holiday celebrations to business travel and major cultural festivals, SAA is proud to offer direct flights that connect Lagos to the world, all while delivering warm African hospitality and reliable service.
Customers are encouraged to book early to secure their seats and enjoy SAA’s competitive fares, premium onboard experience, and seamless onward connections through Johannesburg.
