Etihad Airways is set to double its flights to Nairobi, Kenya, to 14 weekly services starting December 15, 2025, marking a major milestone in its broader African expansion strategy. The announcement comes just months after the airline resumed flights to the Kenyan capital, underlining growing demand on the route.

The expanded service from Abu Dhabi to Nairobi will feature two daily departures—EY767 and EY769—with convenient morning and early morning schedules. The move also reflects Etihad’s growing focus on Africa as a key market for both passenger and cargo services.

Etihad’s Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, Arik De, highlighted the airline’s strategic approach: expanding the fleet, increasing frequencies, and building partnerships. “We’re encouraged by the positive early results and are pleased to announce the expansion of our Nairobi service, as well as increased service to the Seychelles in partnership with Air Seychelles. We’re also introducing daily 787 services to Casablanca and Johannesburg,” he said.

Etihad’s collaboration with Air Seychelles will deliver six weekly flights to Mahe starting May 2025, with connections to Praslin and Mauritius. The airline has also strengthened ties with Ethiopian Airlines through a joint venture and codeshare agreement, further enhancing connectivity across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.

By the end of 2025, Etihad plans to operate nearly 50 weekly flights to Africa, significantly increasing its footprint on the continent compared to 2024. The expanded network is part of Etihad’s long-term vision to position Abu Dhabi as a central aviation hub for African travel and trade.
