Bi-Courtney Aviation Services Limited (BASL), the operator of Murtala Mohammed Airport Lagos Terminal Two (MMA2), has announced plans to install Nigeria’s first digital cold storage system at an airport, aimed at preserving perishable cargo.
Head of Aeronautical and Cargo Services, Remi Jibodu stated that the innovative storage solution is set to address the increasing demand for preserving perishable goods passing through airports in Nigeria.
Jibodu explained, “Cargo space in aircraft bellies is limited, and flights often cannot accommodate all perishable goods. Our new digital cold storage will ensure that businesses can confidently transport and store their products across Nigeria without concerns about spoilage.”
He emphasized that this system would streamline cargo operations and boost revenue for MMA2 by attracting more cargo-related businesses.
