The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and Aviators Africa have reaffirmed their partnership to enhance capacity building and strengthen regulatory excellence across Nigeria’s aviation sector.
During a courtesy visit to the NCAA headquarters in Abuja, Chief Executive Officer of Aviators Africa, Toni Ukachukwu, met with the Director General of the NCAA, Capt. Chris Najomo, to discuss ongoing and future collaborations aimed at advancing aviation safety, security, and human capital development.
Ukachukwu noted that the partnership reflects a shared commitment to nurturing highly skilled professionals capable of driving global best practices in aviation oversight and management. He highlighted that NCAA staff across several directorates are already benefiting from customized training programs focused on technical and non-technical competencies.
“The collaboration between Aviators Africa and the NCAA underscores our collective vision of a safer, more efficient aviation industry in Nigeria and across Africa,” Ukachukwu said. “Through capacity building, mentorship, and knowledge sharing, we aim to elevate regulatory standards to world-class levels.”
Capt. Najomo, in his remarks, commended Aviators Africa’s continuous support in advancing the NCAA’s mission of ensuring effective oversight and compliance with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPs).
“The NCAA remains committed to improving the skills and professionalism of its workforce,” Najomo stated. “We welcome partnerships that align with our vision of regulatory excellence and global compliance.”
Both parties explored key areas of collaboration, including specialized training in aviation safety oversight, airworthiness, navigation services, and aviation security; professional mentorship and non-technical skills development; and the joint organization of workshops and seminars addressing emerging trends and best practices in aviation regulation and management.
Ukachukwu emphasized that human capital development remains a cornerstone of Africa’s aviation growth. He praised Capt. Najomo’s leadership in fostering innovation and continuous learning within the Authority.
The meeting concluded with both leaders reaffirming their commitment to sustaining the strategic alliance. They agreed that ongoing collaboration between public and private stakeholders is vital to strengthening Nigeria’s aviation regulation, promoting operational safety, and ensuring long-term industry sustainability.
