As Four Seasons marks its 65th anniversary, the luxury hospitality company is entering the milestone year from a position of strength, underpinned by disciplined growth, a deeply rooted culture of service and a long-term approach to value creation across its global portfolio.
Founded in 1961 by Isadore Sharp with a single hotel in Toronto, Four Seasons has evolved over more than six decades into one of the world’s most recognised luxury hospitality brands. Today, it operates a unified global portfolio of hotels, resorts, residences and curated travel experiences, all anchored on a consistent commitment to service excellence and authentic care.
According to Alejandro Reynal, President and Chief Executive Officer of Four Seasons, the anniversary is both a moment of reflection and a signal of what lies ahead.
“This milestone year marks both a proud legacy and a clear path forward,” Reynal said. “Our strength comes from staying true to our values – service excellence and genuine care – while growing intentionally and innovating with purpose. That balance will continue to guide Four Seasons for decades to come.”
Throughout its history, Four Seasons has maintained a single-brand strategy, ensuring that every guest experience – whether staying at a hotel, living in a residence or travelling on a curated journey – reflects the same unmistakable standards. The company credits its longevity to a deeply embedded service culture that prioritises warmth, personalisation and authenticity.
“Personalised service is our most enduring advantage,” Reynal added. “Our culture has enabled us to expand and evolve while continuing to inspire guests across generations. As we look ahead, our focus remains on growing with intention and protecting what makes Four Seasons special.”
The company is privately held by majority shareholder Cascade Investment, L.L.C., alongside Kingdom Holding Company and founder Isadore Sharp, through Triples Holdings Limited. Reynal noted that the alignment of shareholders, hotel owners and management provides the stability needed to invest with a long-term horizon.
“Our shareholders offer steady stewardship, while our hotel owners are essential partners in bringing the Four Seasons experience to life globally,” he said.

Four Seasons currently operates 135 hotels and resorts and 61 residences in 47 countries. Its next phase of growth is focused on selective expansion in destinations where the brand can elevate local luxury offerings and contribute to sustainable market development.
In the Americas, the company is building on recent openings such as Naples Beach Club, A Four Seasons Resort, and Four Seasons Resort and Residences Puerto Rico. Planned 2026 openings include Four Seasons Hotel and Residences Cartagena, which will transform colonial and Beaux-Arts landmarks near the city’s historic centre, as well as the reopening of the iconic Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara.
In Europe, upcoming projects highlight heritage and cultural immersion. These include Danieli, A Four Seasons Hotel, Venice, a restored Gothic landmark overlooking the Venetian lagoon; Four Seasons Hotel Mykonos, the brand’s second property in Greece; and The Park Gstaad, A Four Seasons Hotel, bringing refined alpine luxury to the Swiss Alps.
Growth in the Middle East is centred on Saudi Arabia, with several high-profile projects along the Red Sea. These include Four Seasons Resort and Residences Red Sea at Shura Island, Four Seasons Resort and Residences AMAALA at Triple Bay, and Four Seasons Hotel Madinah, located near the Prophet’s Mosque and blending modern comfort with spiritual heritage.

In Asia Pacific, Four Seasons is set to open Four Seasons Hotel Hanoi at Hoan Kiem Lake, marking its debut in Vietnam’s capital and offering a contemporary retreat rooted in local culture.
The company also has around 60 projects at various stages of development. Notable additions include a return to Berlin after two decades, a new hotel in Rio de Janeiro at Leblon Beach, entry into US destinations such as Charleston, and further expansion of its Mountain Collection in Telluride and Deer Valley.
Beyond traditional hospitality, Four Seasons continues to invest in experiential travel. Four Seasons Yachts is set to launch in 2026, with its inaugural vessel, Four Seasons I, sailing across the Mediterranean, Caribbean and Adriatic. The company is also expanding its Four Seasons Private Jet Experience, which has built a loyal following over more than a decade.

In addition, new multi-property itineraries are being introduced in destinations such as Bali, Spain and Mexico, offering guests curated, locally guided journeys designed to deepen cultural connection.
Leadership in Branded Residences
Four Seasons remains a global leader in branded residences, managing 61 residential properties in 20 countries. Residential components now account for about 65 per cent of its development pipeline, reflecting growing demand for luxury living supported by hotel-level service.
Recent and upcoming residential projects span cities including Istanbul, Bahrain Bay, Mumbai and Orlando, as well as resort destinations such as Shura Island, AMAALA and Cartagena. The company is also expanding its standalone Private Residences in locations such as Washington, DC, Dubai International Financial Centre, Abu Dhabi, Las Vegas and Miami.
As it celebrates 65 years, Four Seasons says its focus remains firmly on the future – growing thoughtfully, innovating with purpose and continuing to deliver experiences defined by care, quality and consistency worldwide.
