Ethiopian Airlines has announced it will expand its operations from Lagos to 14 weekly flights starting July 1, 2025, offering Nigerian passengers greater convenience, faster connections, and added travel benefits.

The new schedule introduces an extra daily flight from Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, to Bole International Airport, Addis Ababa. This includes four evening flights departing at 10:00 p.m. and three morning flights at 5:40 a.m., while maintaining its current midday departure.

These additional flights will provide quicker connections to over 140 global destinations across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, such as Dubai, Mumbai, Delhi, Istanbul, Tel Aviv, Sao Paulo, Rome, and Athens.

Mrs. Firiehiwot Mekonnen, Ethiopian Airlines’ Area Manager in Nigeria, stated the expansion is designed to reward loyal passengers with added benefits including more baggage allowance for travelers heading to Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Madras, and Dubai, and double air miles for frequent flyers.

“This move not only enhances service delivery but also reduces total travel time and costs for passengers,” Mekonnen said. “With our newest aircraft like the A350-1000 and Boeing 787 Dreamliner, we are committed to connecting Nigeria to the world efficiently.”

Ethiopian Airlines, which has operated in Nigeria since 1960, continues to strengthen its presence in the market with this major increase in frequency and customer incentives.
