Delta Air Lines has appointed Mary Gbobaniyi as its new Manager Sales for West Africa, effective immediately. Based in Lagos, Nigeria, Gbobaniyi will oversee Delta’s sales and commercial operations across the West African region, including key markets in Nigeria, Ghana, and Senegal. She will also work closely with Delta’s joint venture partners, including Air France, KLM, and Virgin Atlantic.
Gbobaniyi brings extensive experience in the aviation industry, having previously served as Sales Manager for Nigeria at Emirates for nine years. Prior to that, she held various positions at Lufthansa German Airlines, culminating in her role as Regional Manager for Key Accounts. Her expertise in sales and management, as well as her deep understanding of the aviation market, make her a valuable addition to Delta’s leadership team.
Commenting on the appointment, Delta’s General Manager Sales, Middle East, Africa, and India, Manoj Kuraikose, expressed enthusiasm: “I am excited to have Mary on board and look forward to the experience and knowledge she will bring to our already amazing team.”
Gbobaniyi holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Business Information Technology and Marketing from London Metropolitan University, and a GNVQ Advanced in Business Studies from Westminster Kingsway College in London, UK.
