Air Peace has officially announced the launch of its direct international flights from Abuja to both London Heathrow and London Gatwick Airports, with services beginning October 26, 2025. The move positions Air Peace as the first Nigerian airline to operate direct flights from the nation’s capital to London’s two busiest airports.
The airline is offering round-trip tickets starting at ₦1 million, with generous baggage allowances, in what it describes as the most affordable deal on the route to date. The service will be operated using the airline’s wide-body Boeing 777 aircraft, providing enhanced comfort and a premium onboard experience.
“This is a historic step in our mission to democratize air travel for Nigerians,” said Allen Onyema, Chairman of Air Peace. “Launching direct services from Abuja to both Heathrow and Gatwick reflects our commitment to providing accessible, quality, and reliable international air travel.”
Air Peace spokesperson, Efe Osifo-Whiskey, added that the Abuja–London service comes with seamless connectivity to other domestic destinations. Travellers from Lagos, Port Harcourt, Enugu, Kano, Warri, Benin, Owerri, Asaba, Gombe, and Yola can now connect to London via Abuja using a single Air Peace ticket—no need for multiple bookings or rechecking baggage. The same flexibility applies to inbound passengers arriving from the UK, who can connect every morning from Abuja to multiple Nigerian cities.
“This network expansion makes travel more convenient and cost-effective, especially for passengers who prefer to avoid the congestion of Lagos,” Osifo-Whiskey said. “It strengthens Abuja as a key international aviation hub.”
The new route is part of Air Peace’s broader strategy to expand its international footprint and offer travelers more flexible options. The carrier urged passengers to book early through its website or accredited travel agents to take advantage of the introductory fare.
Industry analysts have hailed the development as a major milestone for Nigerian aviation, noting that the expanded connectivity and competitive pricing give Air Peace a significant edge in the West African market.
Beyond boosting tourism and business travel, the airline said the Abuja–London services would further deepen trade and cultural ties between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
