An Air Canada flight from Casablanca, Morocco, to Montreal was canceled after an incident between a flight attendant and a passenger requesting a blanket. The flight, identified as AC73, departed the gate but never reached the runway due to a heated exchange. The passenger had asked for a blanket because the cabin was too cold, prompting the flight attendant to start shouting. The attendant was recorded yelling, “You will behave or we will get off!”

The situation escalated when the passenger asked to speak to the captain. The flight returned to the gate, and police escorted the passenger off the plane. In solidarity, the remaining passengers disembarked, forcing Air Canada to cancel the flight.

Footage of the altercation, showing the flight attendant shouting at the passenger in both French and English, went viral on social media. The video captures the attendant saying, “I don’t want no bullying against my crew. OK? Everyone behave.”

Air Canada has expressed regret over the incident, offering compensation to the affected passenger and launching an investigation. The airline released a statement: “We are taking this incident very seriously. It is under review, and we will take appropriate action. We apologize to our customers and deeply regret that their experience today fell far short of what they have come to expect when flying with Air Canada.”

This incident follows a previous controversy involving Air Canada, where passengers were removed from a flight for refusing to sit in vomit-stained seats in September 2023. Despite attempts to clean the seats, the passengers requested more cleaning supplies, leading to their removal by the captain.

Passengers from the canceled flight were rebooked on a different flight with a new crew and received compensation for the inconvenience. Air Canada reiterated its commitment to addressing the issue and ensuring such incidents do not recur, emphasizing that their customers’ experiences should align with the airline’s standards of service.
