Delta Air Lines has inaugurated its first-ever nonstop flight between Atlanta and Marrakech, marking a new chapter in the airline’s commitment to expanding connectivity between the United States and Africa. The inaugural flight took off on October 25, linking the Southeastern U.S. directly to the heart of Morocco for the first time.
The historic launch was celebrated with vibrant fanfare at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Passengers were treated to Moroccan music, sweet delicacies, and colorful giveaways, while a ribbon-cutting ceremony brought together Delta employees, airport partners, and customers to mark the occasion.
“Delta’s new nonstop service to Marrakech marks an exciting milestone in our commitment to connect the U.S. and Africa,” said Christine Marchand-Pardo, Delta’s Managing Director of EMEAI Operations. “This route opens the door to one of the world’s most vibrant and culturally rich destinations, making travel more seamless for our customers.”
Operating three times weekly from Atlanta, the new route combines convenience with Delta’s signature premium experience — from lie-flat seats in Delta One to curated dining and thoughtful amenities across all cabins. The service reinforces Atlanta’s position as a leading global aviation hub while opening access to one of North Africa’s most captivating destinations.
Upon arrival in Marrakech, passengers were welcomed with warm Moroccan hospitality — mint tea, local treats, and music — offering an authentic first taste of the Red City’s charm. The celebration captured the spirit of Delta’s growing international footprint and its dedication to cultural connection through travel.
With this expansion, Delta strengthens its transatlantic network and deepens ties between two dynamic regions, giving travelers new opportunities to explore Morocco’s historic medinas, bustling souks, and world-renowned cuisine.
The Atlanta–Marrakech service represents more than just a new route — it’s a bridge between continents, cultures, and communities, bringing the magic of Morocco closer than ever for U.S. travelers.
