The International Aviation College (IAC), Ilorin, on October 1, 2024, celebrated the graduation of ten pilots, including nine Commercial Pilot License (CPL) holders and one Private Pilot License (PPL) holder. The graduates were officially decorated by Kwara State’s Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr. Mary Olufunke Arinde, who represented the state government at the ceremony.

In her address, Dr. Arinde expressed her gratitude to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq for his steadfast support of the college and its continued development. She praised the college’s Governing Council and management for their efforts in advancing the institution and urged them to maintain the momentum for the benefit of Kwara State. Dr. Arinde also encouraged the graduating pilots to be ambassadors of the college, upholding professionalism and integrity throughout their careers.

The Registrar of the college, Mr. Mohammed Jimada Jibril, echoed these sentiments, extending his appreciation to both the Governor and the Commissioner for their continued support. He highlighted several of the Governor’s key interventions, including the acquisition of a new flight simulator and the provision of foreign training for aviation personnel. Mr. Jibril assured the state government that the college’s management would continue to uphold the trust placed in them and urged the graduates to adhere to professional ethics in their future roles.

The college’s Bursar, Mr. Sanni Shamsudeen, also thanked Governor AbdulRasaq and Dr. Arinde, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to excellence in aviation training.

Chief Flying Instructor from the Nigerian Aviation College, Captain Barau Mohammed, who supervised the final evaluations, praised the high standards exhibited by the graduates. He expressed confidence that the newly graduated pilots had been trained to international standards, enabling them to compete favorably with their peers globally.

The newly graduated pilots include Abdullahi Amir, Kuteyi Olakanmi, Mogaji Biliaminu, Jubril Sani Mohammed, Okuji Ogeri Niyan, Azodo Ikenna, Igwilo Michelle, Ezema Chidera (CPL), and Abbass Lamido (PPL).
