Following a mid- air incident involving an aircraft belonging to Medview Airlines, the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) has stated that it is set to begin investigations.
Late afternoon yesterday, an aircraft operated by Med-View Nigeria Limited, Boeing 737-500 with registration marks 5N-BQM was said to have been involved in a serious incident en-route Lagos from Abuja at about 3:07pm local time with 27 passengers and six (6) crew members on board.
There was no reported case of fatality.
According to reports, the cabin altitude warning came ON at FL 320 followed by deployment of oxygen masks which necessitated the crew to carry out emergency descent procedure.
This is coming on the heels of the recent incident involving an Air Peace aircraft which occurred in Lagos recently.
In a statement issued by the Bureau, it states, “Our team of safety investigators have commenced investigation. As the investigating agency, AIB needs and hereby solicits for your assistance. We want the public to know that we would be amenable to receiving any video clip, relevant evidence, or information any members of the public may have of the accident; that can assist us with this investigation.”
