THE United States Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is currently undergoing a routine assessment of Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA).

The purpose of the routine check being carried out by a three-man team at the airport is to observe the implementation of the Aviation Security(AVSEC) measures  and also to conduct an inspection on the recommended TSA security procedures for Delta Airlines.

The TSA’s Annual Airport Assessment visit which begun on the 28th January is expected to end on the 1st of February 2019.

As a matter of policy, the Transportation Security Administration of the United States of America goes on an annual visit to countries where American airlines operate. Members of the TSA team to Nigeria include Laura Loya (team lead), Edward Cloniger and Mitch Mankowski.

Welcoming the team at the Aviation House, Capt. Muhtar Usman, the Director General of the Authority, has pledged total cooperation and support of NCAA for the accomplishment of the team’s task. He expressed that the Authority is ready to close in real-time any open items that may be noticed.
